Using the story of **Joseph and Pharaoh in Genesis 41**, Pastor Jonathan shows that saving is not merely modern financial advice — it reflects a biblical principle of preparing during seasons of abundance for seasons when resources may be scarce.

Joseph's strategy was simple: during the seven years of abundance, **20% was set aside** in preparation for the years of famine.

This conversation also challenges one of our biggest assumptions about money:

Someone earning £3,000 and consistently saving £500 can finish the year with more than someone earning £5,000 but spending almost everything.

And someone continually spending more than they earn may be quietly building debt regardless of how impressive their income appears.
